Cold and Frosty Morning

Hello there! This week we have been playing about with the frost and ice. We decided to get up early and go out to the New Forest moorland to find some frozen puddles and sparkly frost.

Last week we started to get some crisper mornings.
Frost on the car roof.

Boots and Bobble hats.

Crack!
Ooooo, not sure if it's safe!

A little frozen stream.
Frost angel fun.
Frosty lichen on a tree stump.

After getting cold toes we decided to go home but first we stopped at Lepe where I spotted this Little Egret. We had some chips in the cafe then had another ten minutes on the beach collecting some pretty stones.
Hope you have been enjoying seeing the frost, wrap up warm!

Christmas and New Year Walk

Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely time over the holidays. We crammed in visits to lots of friends and family in Cornwall and had a lovely time. Before we went we made some chocolate coated marzipan mice and decorated them...and the kitchen floor...

And we made some chocolate covered maraschino cherry sweets too.

Father Christmas and his reindeer came!

The girls had some very exciting presents...

Including this very pretty handmade blanket from Granny!

We squeezed in a trip to the Eden Project and saw some reindeer and the Winter Wonderland in the rain forest biome.

As we walked through the biome we found this pretty scene. I'm glad we saw this at night, the reflection of the paper labels in the water was very atmospheric.

The labels were for people to write messages to people that they missed or couldn't be with this Christmas.

We like to visit this house in St Austell, they always go crazy with the Christmas lights!

Back home, when there was a break in the weather we all went out for our first walk of 2016 at Lepe.

Splash!

There had been a bit of a storm and there were lots of cuttlefish bones washed up on the shore.

And hundreds of shells too!

Sea foam at the shoreline.

We had quite an unusual sunset and then we all headed home. I can't wait to get out and about in the New Forest this year, hopefully the rain will hold off for a bit!

See you next time, love Amber x x x
